Collecchio
is localted
along the
plain of the
Taro river,
surrounded
by hills, it
used to be
an important
stopping
place along
the Romea
road. At the
entrance of
the village
is the
monumental
portal
marking the
access to
the park of
Villa Paveri
Fontana,
built at the
end of the
XVII
century,
fine example
of a baroque
residence.
Walking
through the
village it
is possible
to visit the Church
of San
Prospero,
founded in
the
11th century
and Villa
Nevicati,
mansion of
the first
years of the
19th
century. In
Ozzano Taro,
a tiny
village
close
to Collecchio, there
is
the Museum
Ettore
Guatelli
dedicated to
the rural
life.
